I am studying Communication Design at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning.
During my years as a robotics team member in junior-high and high-school, I began to discover my love for creativity. I found myself enjoying a self-assigned role of creating designs for posters, packaging, presentations, and logos for our robotics projects. Over the next few years, my additional interest in computers led to a dual enrollment education and certificate in software development. As a result of my understanding of coding, and further confirmation of my interest in visual communication, I enrolled in Communication Design at DAAP.
My college professors encouraged me to let go of some preconceptions I brought into design and allow my creativity to flow throughout my work. They recognized my ability to build strong concepts and inspired me to target my design imagery toward motivating a specific audience to take an intended action.
Outside of design, I am enhancing my creativity, determination, and discipline as I study and train in Karate, play the piano, and enjoy reading in my free time. I have practiced incorporating such skills, values, and interests into my design work. Through this initiative, I have become more aware of the importance of design and how I can use my creative gifts to help my community.
